almost transparent blue cyanotype prints (x5), 2025 (click on images to cycle through)

‘Almost Transparent Blue’ is the name of the 1976 Ryū Murakami book i finished ( re ) reading this morning. It is also ( i guess ) a tone of blue that stands in direct opposition to ‘Deep Blue’: the IBM developed computer that beat Garry Kasparov in the famous 1997 chess match.

In 2025 ‘Almost Transparent Blue’ is a small series of cyanotype prints carried out on the Tempelhofer Feld. in Berlin. i could write a lengthy piece about chance operations and capturing ( our failing to capture ) the soul of something free that would connect the references mentioned in the paragraph above but

in reality these are

nothing more than some ghostly photograms

carried out by me and Sofia in September

in the dying summer’s light.
